Though we spent only 1 more night in Seville, I felt the closure I needed so desperately when I had left the first time, was finally in my grasp. Still though, we were emotionally stuck and it took us hours to leave and say goodbye all over again.

it basically sucks for a week

despite the fact that nothing has ever been stolen at this house and numerous other items of value were out openly.

ipod touch - with 3 new songs not backed up and some other writings
wallet - 170 euro, cards, drivers license, peoples numbers i had just met, other awesomeness.
camera - but luckily, the pictures had already been uploaded

man... i don´t even know what else...clothes. just... basically everything.
trying to get back we sink a boat and my mp3 ends up in the canal likely.

onto a boat we thought wasn´t sinking.... and i fall into the most disgusting water.... of all time
twice. twice cuz i was laughing so hard. hahaha

go and pack and give a police report for my travel insurance as i had to get on a plane to spain in a couple hours.
not everything i told him is on the report, police officer kind of mean to me and couldn´t understand the entire story and i think assumed i was lying.... which.... i don´t really blame him for cuz i still can´t believe it all happened.

Well, it all started out ok but now I find myself sitting in some random cafe in some random town on the Italian Swiss border becuz of a fire in the only tunnel that leads out of here and into Switzerland. Apparently a train was struck by lightning and the fire is on the Italian side. Which explains exactly why there is still no information or resolve to this issue. It's been over 4 hours since it happened and I still have no way out of here, no advice, and possibly no host in Switzerland despite my early efforts to secure one. And um... Lightning strikes passenger trains and sets them on fire???!! That happens!!!??? I heard more than a week later it's still blocked but couldn't find anything about it online.

Amalfi Coast, Italy
The road from Sicily to Amalfi proved to be significantly easier than that from Bari to Sicily. One train with no connections from Palermo to Salerno. When booking the rail, I was concerned about getting to the port to get the ferry back to mainland and then getting on the train, how far is this from that, where do I have to walk because surely the trains don't go on the ferry. Then my friends paused, laughed and told me that they do indeed go on the ferry. Skip past all the boringness, packed full train, awkward seating arrangements, my stumbling and fumbling with bags and guitar, the fact that Salerno train station area was comparable to a psychiatric ward and I am now on the winding road to Minori, a town I always thought I'd be seeing with my long time friend, Ashley.

Sicilia
On the bus to Sicily as the train connections to get from Bari to Sicily are far too numerous. Tho I am greatly regretting the fact that I did not consider the unpaved conditions of italy's roads before booking a 15 hour bus ride. I keep telling myself I will be there in no time, but I can't seem to believe my own lies.

Ρόδος - Rhodes Greece
Just before leaving Athens I was told of a couchsurfing meeting last minute, so since I'd never been to one I decided to pop around the corner and see who I could meet. Everyone there was Greek or living in Greece except for myself and one other surfer from Denmark. We both had plans of hitting the islands within the next couple days and after a coin toss decision ultimately leaning towards a change in my plans (since his ferry ticket was already bought), I found myself on a 29 hour ferry ride to an island I really didn't have much intention of exploring thoroughly, but had intended passing through.

Catching the bus to Methoni on 2 hours sleep, starving yourself of water and witnessing a needle in someones arm first thing in the morning can put one on a bit of an emotional edge. 6 hours on a bus, will throw you off that edge.

Αθήνα - Athens Greece
The flight over was magical. Aegean Air is a rare jewel among airlines. I am fading out of Egypt mode but still keep going to say thank u in Arabic. I met my couch surfing host with ease and he showed me to my apartment, yeh, apartment. I have my own place cuz him and his friends rent a flat just to hang out in. Unfortunately, no heat or hot water. But I can survive by boiling water and filling the tub. I did one cold shower and while I usually live for cold showers, I wont be doing that again. Plus I have like ten wall plug heaters going. I crashed for a while and woke up to a house full of guys hanging out, playing drinking games. Haha. awesome. They all seem really cool and it's interesting just listening in attempt to pick out what I know of Greek.

London Town
I've only been here for a week and yet I feel like I've known this place forever.
Angry at myself for never coming before but also feeling like I was coming back home.
I fall in love on a daily, with pretty people on the street, with voices in telephone booths next to me, with the crisp contrast of Gothic spires against a greying sky and just as I suspected I would be, I'm in love with the city and far beyond that.

Waiting To Be Lost
Yesterday marked a month till my trip.
All I can think about is other worlds and ancient history....
Standing amongst the ruins of lost civilizations,
marveling at the vastness of our world. I've never stood anywhere more than 400 years old.... The history behind a single stone facinates me and probably always will.
